Certified Prosthetist

As a prosthetist at Southwest Prosthetics, you will be a part of our mission to provide unprecedented care for amputees in Central Texas. Your ability to show compassion to patients and implement good prosthetic practices is vital to this role. RESPONSIBILITIES:

– Confer with physicians to formulate prescriptions for prosthetic devices

– Maintain patients records

– Select materials and components to be used based on device design

– Explain functionality of prosthetic devices to healthcare workers

– Research new ways to construct and use prosthetic devices

– Provide care to patients with partial or total absence of limb by planning fabrication of, writing specifications for, and fitting prostheses

– Examine & evaluate patients’ prosthetic needs in relation to disease entity functional loss

– Perform fitting, including static dynamic alignments

– Evaluate prosthesis on patient, make adjustments to assure fit, function, comfort, and quality

– Educate patient on the use of his or her prosthesis

– Update skills as well as knowledge by attending conferences

QUALIFICATIONS:

– Previous experience in the healthcare industry

– Completed master’s degree in prosthetics CP/ CPO

– Prosthetist license

Job Type: Full Time

Schedule: Mon-Friday, 9-5pm
